At this house in Leiden, the ridge tiles at the transition from the tiled roof to the flat roof were set in old, weathered mortar. I removed the ridge tiles and completely removed the old mortar.
Dry secured with frost clamps
After that, I installed a ridge roll and re-laid the ridge tiles, securing each with ridge clamps. This way, they stay in place during strong winds and the ridge remains watertight, which roof leak prevents.
